Company type
The Company type feature gives you more structure and clarity when managing different companies within Integray. Now, you can define a company’s type during creation, making it easier to control its purpose and ensure better organization across your environments.
Company type helps you distinguish between different environments within Integray. It improves organization, enhances clarity, and gives you more control over how integrations are tested and deployed.
The available Company types include:
-
Default – A general-purpose option for smaller solutions that don’t require strict separation.
-
Sandbox – A safe space for testing and learning.
-
Testing – A controlled testing environment.
-
Production – The live environment, where stability is crucial.
How it works
When you create a new company, you can select a Company type to define its purpose. This classification helps you separate testing, development, and production environments, reducing the risk of unintended changes affecting live systems.
The option to select a Company type during creation is only available with a Premium license.
Why it matters
Before this update, managing different environments felt unclear, making it harder to separate testing from production. Now, Company type helps you:
-
Keep environments separate – prevent unwanted changes by distinguishing testing from production.
-
Manage integrations more efficiently – always know which environment you’re working in and switch if needed.
With this update, you can work more efficiently, reduce risks, and maintain better control over your integrations.
The Company type feature is not only about organizing your environments. By combining company types with role-based access rights, you can define who can view, edit, or manage companies depending on their environment.
For example, in development, users can typically make edits, while in production, access should be limited to selected administrators with view or log permissions only. This approach reduces the risk of accidental changes and ensures each environment remains secure and stable.
Getting started
To use Company type, simply select the right option when creating a new company. If needed, adjust the type later in Company settings, as long as your role allows it. For more details, check out the documentation.
